INITIATIVE: Try this redistribution

| February 16, 2020 12:00 AM

Mr. Mayville, instead of chasing signatures to push for legislation that would reduce the income of a minority segment of Idahoans, try this idea.

I’m sure this will work. It’s exactly in line with the current thought process of the left.

Mr. Mayville, chase down signatures to introduce legislation requiring teachers and schools to take a portion, only 5%, of the top scholastic, highest performing kids’ GPAs, and re-distribute it to those kids who aren’t willing to do the work and are failing. That will create true equality.

Leave the middle segment, largest portion of students alone because mediocrity will be acceptable and eventually become the new norm.

This is a true win-win for the students and the government-funded/operated schools.

Students will start to become truly indoctrinated into what socialism will be like, preparing them for what is to come when they decide to grow up and enter life.

All of our government-funded education centers will now be producing the same quality product, statewide.

Who could possibly lose?

No exceptionalism here.

This would be a true grassroots effort, beginning with the very first part of the education equation: the kids.

They’ll love it so much, they’ll vote left of center for decades after they turn 18.

A true win-win for state and country.
