COLUMN: Romney was showboating

| February 14, 2020 12:00 AM

Regarding David Adler’s opinion piece on Mitt Romney, in our legal system of jurisprudence, a man is innocent until proven guilty. It was not up to President Trump to prove his innocence. Romney’s vote being predicated on hearing from witnesses was a moot point as he had already made up his mind.

Senator Romney showed no bravery. He showboated plain and simple. He knew the House did not make its case and that the Senate was in no mood to drag out the hearing. Not hearing from witnesses does not automatically prove President Trump guilty. As a side note, I did not vote for President Trump.
