Richard Dean Johnson, 73

Richard Dean Johnson, better known to everyone as Dick, passed away in Spokane Valley, Wash., on Jan. 28, 2020. Dick was born on June 26, 1946, and grew up and attended school in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. He was the son of Cecil Wilhelm Johnson and Irene Mabel Stone.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah; two daughters: Vikki Johnson and Tawnee Philippon; three grandchildren: Kimberlei Wunder, Lauralei Wittell and Mattingly David; one great-grandson, Cooper Wunder; and the mother of his children, Jenny Johnson. Dick is also survived by two sisters: Becky Johnson and Pat Thompson; three brothers: Kevin Johnson, Jim Johnson and Dan Scott; his lifelong friend, Larry Jamison; and his many cousins and friends in Mountain City, Tenn.

He was predeceased by his parents and two sisters: Marlene Silva and Valerie Johnson; brother-in-law, Ray Silva; his cousin, Larry Jacobsen and by family members Roy and Lola Toad Holloway, Harold Phillippi, Lon Guy and James Thomas.

Dick worked for many years as a manager for Cash and Carry Wholesale, Roundup Co. and West Coast Grocery until his diagnosis with multiple sclerosis forced him to retire. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed many fine times camping with his cousins and family.
