ROMNEY: He did his duty

With his speech and his vote to convict President Trump of “abuse of power,” Senator Romney has forever obliterated the Republican Party’s attempts to cast these impeachment proceedings as a purely partisan exercise. In doing so, he exposes the corrupt bargain made by his fellow Republicans.

Never underestimate the power of one woman or man doing the right thing. History will applaud Senator Romney for putting his oath of office and his duty to his country above fealty to political party. He has my respect and admiration. Like my fellow Marines and doctors in combat, Senator Romney is a true profile in courage.
