INITIATIVE: Reasons for rejection
In The Press article on Feb. 4, Mr. Mayville in the very first paragraph declares “… initiative, isn’t tax those who have more money…” then four paragraphs later tells us who it does tax. The rich! People with more money than…him? Anyone making more than $250/500K will get taxed.
Lie No. 2: “It’s not some kind of populism against the rich.”
Oh really?
So your political affiliation that is trying to gin up their base on this exact topic of populism against the rich (free tuition, health care, etc.), isn’t some kind of populism?
Lie No. 3: “We need to give our kids a better chance to make a living.”
That statement really means, I WANT MY KID… so tax the rich and leave me out of it.
If WE were really an honest and evenly applied proper noun within his group of like-minded individuals, he would have suggested WE should increase the Idaho sales tax to fulfill his dream. Only then does WE truly apply in his effort to fund another government program that is a complete and utter failure, which doesn’t have much incentive to hold anyone accountable for the failure of a school — because it’s a government funded program!
If it fails, Democrats always insist on throwing more money at it while the employees finish their career and retire comfortably… on the taxpayers’ dime.
There is a reason why Charter schools work and it’s not because those teachers are paid more. In fact, those teachers are often paid less on average (without getting into benefits). They work because they have something to lose — like going out of business.
Something the government doesn’t have to worry about.
