SICK: Coronavirus vs. flu

Our federal government recently declared a National Health Emergency concerned with what they view as a potential pandemic from the coronavirus. Apparently, the stock market agrees with a 600 point crash in the Dow Jones Industrial index.

Call me a fool, but the government’s reaction doesn’t square with the facts. The coronavirus in the U.S. as of this writing: 11 confirmed cases, no deaths. The 2019/2020 flu season: 19 million cases, about 10,000 deaths.

The only epidemic here is unwarranted panic.
