GROWTH: Time for action
After reading Saturday’s front-page article about the “flawed” tax model, I have a question. If growth is paying for itself, why do my property taxes keep going up on my existing home?
It seems a little common sense is in order here. If I come home and find my house flooding from a broken faucet, the first thing I am going to do is shut off the water. Growth needs to be addressed in much the same way and it never ceases to amaze me that even with just about everyone in agreement that the level of growth is unacceptable, nothing is done about it.
I suggest a county-wide approach modeled after an ordinance in Boulder City, Nev. It limits growth to about 3% per year. If not this, SOMETHING.

Now let’s see if any of the concerned city and county officials will even consider any other option but helping themselves to our bank accounts. This cannot continue.
