Pam Slaton, 63

Pam Slaton passed away at 4:42 p.m. on Jan. 27, 2020, in Coeur d’Alene. Her family was at her side and she is now at peace with her Lord. Pam had battled a rare form of leukemia. The family would like to thank Father John Mosier, for his loving words and kindness, and St. Thomas. They also appreciate the wonderful and compassionate care that was provided by the staff at the Kootenai Medical Center emergency room and intensive care unit #2.

Pam was born in Houston on Aug. 17, 1956. She was raised in Orange, Texas, by her mother, Ann, and father, Henry. Her father preceded her in death in 1964, when she was 8 years old. She went to St. Mary’s Catholic School and attended Stank High School in Orange. Pam also attended Lamar University, where she received her registered nurse degree. Pam worked for many years as an RN in Texas and Idaho. She enjoyed her work and was a very loving and compassionate caregiver to many patients.

Pam also had a passion for nature and animals. She spent a great deal of her time in photography. She enjoyed making calendars from her many wildlife photos for her friends and family. Her great love was her numerous dogs and cats that she raised and cared for over the years. She will be missed greatly by her great Pyrenees, Emma, and her cat, Mickey.

She is survived by her loving husband, Bob; mother, Ann; sister, Linda; niece, Elicia and husband, Lee; aunt, Ruth; and many cousins in Texas, Ireland and Holland, as well as her many friends in Idaho and beyond. Pam will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Donations can be made in her name to Kootenai Humane Society.
