CLIMATE: The dueling carbons

Jim Hollingsworth’s My Turn column was very good with his “common sense” article on climate change. The only thing I’d like to add to the common sense is what I surmise when I see the satellite pictures of Earth, which show the tremendous volume of airplane traffic worldwide, and the volume of traffic in our nation alone, which is putting carbon monoxide — not carbon dioxide — into the atmosphere.

As Hollingsworth says, carbon dioxide is good. It provides life-supporting oxygen into the air. But it seems to me he’s ignoring the carbon monoxide, which may or may not be affecting Earth’s climate, at least adding to if not causing global warming.
