Herbert ‘Herb’ P. Jones, 83
Herbert “Herb” Philo Jones, 83, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, passed away peacefully on Monday, Nov. 30, 2020. He was born on April 17, 1937, in St. Paul, Minn., to father, Philo M. Jones, and mother, Elva A. Stinson Jones. He had two siblings, Marian E. Jones Abbott of Billings, Mont. and Dene P. Jones of Hayden, Idaho.
Herb moved to Harbor City, Calif., in 1960, and was drafted into the U.S. Army in Dec., 1961. He served two years active duty and four years in the Army Reserve before he was honorably discharged. He was a certified locksmith and held a certification in computer data processing. He worked for what would become Dietzgen Corporation, in blueprint paper manufacturing, for 34 years, from 1963 to his retirement in 1997. Upon retirement, Herb moved to Coeur d’Alene.
He is survived by his brother, Dene P. Jones, and sister-in-law, Linda J. Jones, of Hayden, Idaho; nieces, Cynthia M. Jones of Hayden and Darcy L. Jones of Fort Irwin, Calif.; and grand-nephew, Galen J. Jones of Cheney, Wash.. He is predeceased by mother, Elva A. Stinson Jones, who died March, 1959; father, Philo M. Jones, who died Jan., 1977; and sister, Marian E. Jones Abbott, who died Oct., 2014.
