Patricia L. Wilson, 90, passed away Dec. 24, 2020, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, of natural causes. A fourth generation Wyomingite, she was born March 30, 1930, to Allan M. and Marie E. Smith in Cody, Wyo. Pat was raised in the small ranching community of Meeteetse, Wyo., where she enjoyed a delightful childhood. The Smith home was an integral gathering place for social, as well as business-related, meetings. She graduated in 1948 as valedictorian from Meeteetse High School.

Pat worked as a clerk at Heart Mountain Relocation Center in Cody for several years. She married Lyle M. Wilson in 1952, and they had two children, Kathie and Jim.

Choosing to raise their children in Jackson, Wyo., Pat worked in bookkeeping and accounting for several local businesses including Teton Motors, Skinny Skis and Spring Creek Ranch. Desiring to be closer to their children, retirement took Pat and Lyle to Victor, Mont. As a widow, Pat moved to Coeur d’Alene in 2002.

Pat enjoyed people and will be remembered for her faith, humor and jovial good nature. An especially devoted mother, she loved her children endlessly, supporting them in their many endeavors. Raising organic foods and locker-hooking ornate rugs from home-raised wool were among her many talents. She was a lifetime member of the Jackson Hole Order of Eastern Star. Proud and determined, Pat was a Wyoming woman to the very end.

Pat is predeceased by her parents, her husband, and brothers Donald, Lawrence and Stanley. She is survived by Kathie (Georgeanne Griffith) of Coeur d’Alene, James (Joann) and grandson, Damien, all of Victor, and several nieces and nephews. A private service is planned for a later date.

In Pat’s memory, the family will contribute to Hospice of North Idaho and Wyoming State Historical Society.

Yates Funeral Home has been entrusted with final arrangements.
