HAYDEN LAKE — Three people were arrested Sunday in connection to the theft of packages from Hayden Lake homes.

Madeline Cameron was also arrested for an active warrant.

Kootenai County Sheriff's Office deputies received a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area of Bozanta Drive and the Hayden Lake Country Club about 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

According to a press release, the suspicious vehicle matched one that was involved in a theft from a porch on Torrey Lane that was picked up on a Ring camera.

Deputies responded to the area, located the vehicle and made a traffic stop, the release said.

During the investigation it was determined that the three occupants were involved in the theft of packages from residences in the area, the release said.

Packages, mail and other stolen property were located in the vehicle, including the items taken from the residence on Torrey Lane.

A snow blower was also located in the truck that is believed to be stolen from a residence in the area, the release said.

If anyone had any packages they believed were stolen in the Hayden area or if they have information about this theft case or the suspects, they can call 446-1300.

The KCSO referred to the suspects as "Porch Pirates" in the release.

"The Sheriff’s Office would like to remind everyone that packages left on porches in plain sight are an invitation for thieves," the release said.
