Martin 'Marty' Krupitsky, 86

| December 20, 2020 1:00 AM

During the night of Dec. 7, 2020, Martin “Marty” Krupitsky passed away peacefully in his sleep. On reflection he lived a full life, on his terms and he passed the way he would have desired, without medical intervention nor pain. He would have celebrated his 87th birthday on Tuesday, December 8th.

He is now at rest with his beloved wife, Lil Krupitsky, who together shared years of adventures, from growing up in Brooklyn, to an Air Force assignment in Newfoundland, to a train ride across country with their daughter, Susan, as they created a life in California. They welcomed their daughter, Carrie, and together as a family lived many years in Southern California. Retirement took them to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, their beloved home until their passing.

Marty always loved learning and school. He worked as a “soda jerk” in high school. He was fascinated with airplanes and had a long career as a respected aerospace engineer. He loved the water, spending time on Lake Coeur d’Alene, boating and then in his later years, taking up kayaking along the Coeur d’Alene River and neighboring lakes.

He was an avid reader, spending hours enthralled in mysteries and adventure stories. Although he lost his sight in the last couple of years, he always loved life! He never complained and cherished his friends and family.

He is survived by his daughters, Susan Kozlowski and Carrie Krupitsky; his four grandchildren: Jessica, Zach, Naomi and Adam; and great-grandchildren, Adalyn, Ella, Jaxon, Cam and one more on the way in the next couple of weeks. We miss him dearly, yet are grateful for the memories, the time we shared, and the knowledge he is at peace and always did it his way.

His family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the people of Coeur d’Alene for their friendship and love over the last 30 years.
