| December 17, 2020 1:00 AM

Lifetime resident of beautiful North Idaho, Delores Louise Huseby, 92, passed away on Dec. 15, 2020, at Schneidmiller House in Coeur d’Alene, after her long battle with COPD.

She was born on Aug. 6, 1928, to John Waldo and Fern Opheilli Cathcart Waldo, in Harrison, Idaho, where her pioneer family lived for many years. She then moved to Coeur d’Alene, making it her home.

She met Raymond S. Huseby and always laughed how she met him on a blind date at a Farragut dance. The love story of Delores and Ray continued from February of 1949 until May of 2003, and lasted for 54 years.

Delores worked as a waitress for many years. She then went to beauty school and began working as a licensed beauty operator. She had her own beauty shop in Dalton Gardens. Later in life she began working with the Coeur d’Alene Homes and then at her residence at Heritage (now Orchard Ridge Senior Living), in the beauty salon.

Both her and her husband, Ray, were lifetime members of the VFW and Eagles Auxiliary. They enjoyed many years with their family, camping at Kelso Lake and catching many fish. They enjoyed trips to Reno with friends and family.

Delores is preceded in death by her brothers, Eugene and Vern Waldo, and sisters, Orient Huseby and Lenore Waldo.

Delores is survived by her children; son, Ralph Jerome of Kellogg; daughter, Peggy Huseby Sanders of Pinehurst; grandchildren, Sheri and Jon Jon of Spokane, Sabrina of Post Falls and Kristina Gaylord of Michigan; her five great-grandchildren, Melissa, Kayla Courtney, Patrick and Autumn; and her one great-grandson, Colton, her angel on earth. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who she loved deeply and misses talking to each of them on Facebook.

Delores has now returned back home to the Kingdom of Heaven with our heavenly Father God, and Jesus Christ Lord and Savior. She is in the arms of her loving family, parents and siblings.

Rest in peace, Delores, your journey is over on earth. Job well done as daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. You will be missed by all.
