WORLEY — A pursuit of a stolen vehicle Sunday night led to a Kootenai County Sheriff's Office patrol car being rammed and a deputy firing his service weapon.

The chase started with a report of a possible DUI on U.S. 95 near Worley, and also that the vehicle had been stolen in Desmet.

A deputy tried to stop the car but the suspect vehicle continued northbound on U.S. 95. The vehicle continued to the Coeur d'Alene Casino and then southbound on 95.

"Several attempts to stop the vehicle were made but were not successful," a press release said. At one point the suspect rammed a patrol vehicle, the release said, which led to the deputy firing his service weapon.

The suspect was treated at the scene, then transported to Kootenai Health with non-life threatening injuries. He was arrested for felony eluding with other charges pending.

An investigation continues.
