PREP BOYS BASKETBALL: Spotted Horse leads Lakeside to bounceback victory

| December 13, 2020 1:15 AM

SPIRIT LAKE — Kenyon Spotted Horse scored 20 points and was one of three Lakeside players in double figures, and the Knights bounced back from their first loss since the 2018-19 season with a 60-36 win over the Timberlake Tigers in nonleague play on Saturday night.

“He was consistent throughout the game,” Timberlake coach Mike Menti said of Spotted Horse. “He was tough tonight. We just couldn’t get it going and had 15 or 16 turnovers in the first half and had some bad, dumb passes. Lakeside likes to run and got a lot of points off their transition game. We need to do a better job of not staring at the ball and keeping up with them.”

Jayson Hall had 13 points, Vander Brown 12 for Lakeside (2-1), which travels to Clark Fork on Tuesday.

The Knights had their 25-game winning streak snapped Thursday with a 51-40 loss at St. Maries.

Zach Yetter scored 16 of his team-high 18 points in the second half for Timberlake (1-4), which travels to Moscow on Wednesday.
