Robert 'Chewy' Steven Foxx Sr., 69

| December 12, 2020 1:00 AM

Beloved husband, father and friend, Robert “Chewy” Steven Foxx Sr., 69, of Hayden, Idaho, peacefully passed away surrounded by those who loved him on Dec. 2, 2020, in care of Hospice. Chewy was born on Dec. 20, 1950, in Wichita, Kan.; the son of Luther and Lillian (Meeks) Foxx.

Chewy grew up and attended school in Wichita. Later in life, he found himself living in the Pacific Northwest. It was here that he began his illustrious career as a police officer for the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office. Chewy was very proud of his time on the force.

Chewy met the love of his life, Emerald, in Columbia. They spent 21 years together. Their 21 years led to a lifetime of wonderful memories until the very end.

Chewy was a protector and provider for his family. He was a man of tradition and was bold and strong minded. He was a “tool” guy who could fix anything. Chewy was known for being a perfectionist. He was also known for always having his “goodies,” his coffee and his Dr. Pepper, around.

Chewy is survived by his wife, Emerald and their children, Danny Foxx and Matthew Foxx.; his children, Rob, Steve and John; his brothers, Dan and Jim; and sister, Barbara; as well as many nieces, nephews and grandchildren. He also leaves behind his favorite dog, Chocolate.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Lillian, as well as his sister, Linda.

Chewy was a special kind of man; he made his life what he wanted it to be and lived it to the fullest. He wanted to be remembered as someone who always had his best intentions in mind. Chewy wanted his passing to be peaceful and quiet- as his life was so bright and so loud and his wishes have been honored.

Per his wishes, he was cremated and will be scattered privately in a location of his choosing. It was his request that there be no services.

Rest in eternal peace.
