IHSAA votes to move 4A boys, girls semis to Idaho Center

Semifinal games of the state 4A boys and girls basketball tournaments will be moved to the much-larger Ford Idaho Center in Nampa to allow for more fans to attend, the Idaho High School Activities Association Board of Control voted Tuesday.

For the 4A boys tournament at Borah High in Boise, gym capacity has been an issue for years, with fans often turned away at the door for semifinal games.

The move will start with the 2021 tourneys, if there are no fan restrictions.

The 5A consolation games on that Friday would move to the 4A sites.

No new time schedule has been set. The 5A semis have been played at 6:15 and 8 p.m. MST on Friday night at the Idaho Center.
