POST FALLS — Police are seeking a 1967 classic blue Volkswagen Beetle that was stolen in Post Falls on Nov. 26 or Nov. 27.

The Beetle had been fully restored by its owner, with custom interior and has a white scratch on the front passenger side fender. It has no license plates.

“It’s a distinctive car,” said Detective Patrick Meehan with the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office.

He said the owner left the Bug locked, with a dead battery, at the end of a driveway in the 8600 block of west Highland Drive in Post Falls on the night of Nov. 26.

Th next morning, it was gone.

Meehan believes a trailer or tow truck was used to take the Beetle. He is optimistic it will be recovered soon. An RV stolen from Hayden was just found in Seattle.

“We have a feeling it’s not too far away from where it was stolen from,” he said.

Anyone who knows about this theft is asked to contact Meehan at 208-446-2274.
