Gil Alvarado Memorial 5K and 1-mile fun run/walk Saturday

The Gil Alvarado Memorial 5K and 1-mile fun run/walk is scheduled for 9 a.m. Saturday at Riverstone Park.

It’s $20 for adults and $15 for kids. It includes a shirt, gift bag and refreshments.

It is being put on by Candlelight Christian Fellowship and is a fundraiser to benefit the community’s working poor, which is something that Alvarado did for the church through its benevolence ministry. He died in March 2019 after a long battle with cancer.
