Charles David Wigton, 85

Charles David Wigton, 85, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, left us to be with the Lord on Monday, July 27, 2020, at the Schneidmiller Hospice House in Coeur d’Alene.

Chuck was born on Thursday, July 18, 1935, at 3:20 p.m. in a little hospital in Buffalo Center, Iowa. He was born to Alice Lucille Wigton and Cleon Fred Wigton Jr.

Chuck spent his early childhood years in Britt, Iowa. When he was in the third grade, he and his family moved to the Puget Sound. During his childhood, he enjoyed spending time with his friends and going to Sunday school and youth group. While in high school, Chuck enjoyed singing in the Boys Glee Club and was then invited to belong to the Lincoln Acapella Choir.

After graduating high school early, Chuck started during the spring term of 1953 at Puget Sound College of the Bible in Seattle, Wash. Chuck put himself through college as a machinist. During his time in college, he met his wife Araminta Sliger; together they made up the entire graduating class of 1957.

Chuck and Minute were married Aug. 23, 1957. They were married for 60 years until Minute passed in 2018. They shared their love with everyone who met them and are most likely holding hands on a love seat watching “Hello, Dolly!” in heaven.

After college, Chuck accepted an offer to become the Senior Minister at First Christian Church in Sandpoint, Idaho. They continued to minister at the church together for 40 years. It is now called the North Summit Church.

Chuck spent his entire life serving others for the Lord throughout the Pacific Northwest. Most recently at Real Life Ministries in Post Falls, Idaho.

Chuck is survived by his three sons, Art and his wife, Janet; David and his wife, Rose; and Lance and his wife, Angie. As well as his six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Chuck’s service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, 2020, at Real Life Ministries in Post Falls.
