Pfennigs, a 6-foot-7 right-handed pitcher from Post Falls and currently at Oregon State, finished his season in the Wild Wild West League — a collegiate baseball league formed this season after the cancellation of the West Coast League season due to COVID-19 concerns — with a 1-0 record and 0.00 earned run average in nine innings pitched. Pfennigs allowed one hit while striking out 15, with two walks. In last Saturday’s semifinal game of playoffs, Pfennigs picked up the win with four shutout innings and eight strikeouts against the Portland Gherkins. The Knights, who finished 13-3, beat the Portland Pickles 8-7 on Sunday to win the league title.

Manzardo, an infielder from Lake City High and Washington State, is batting .276 (24 for 87) with 22 runs batted in and five home runs. Manzardo has scored 23 runs and has four doubles for the team, a collegiate summer league baseball team in Willmar, Minn. Games run in the league through Aug. 20.
