Palaniuk, a graduate of Lakeland High in Rathdrum, rallied on the final day of the Bassmaster Elite event at Lake Champlain near Plattsburgh, N.Y., on Aug 2., finishing with a four-day total of 80 pounds, 1 ounce. “It was just one of those days where everything worked out,” Palaniuk said. “All week long, I said, ‘just give me a shot.’ Because I looked at the weather and I knew we were going get that windy weather we got in practice.”
