Free masks offered Thursday

| August 11, 2020 10:32 AM

Free masks will be offered Thursday at Cherry Hill Park.

The giveaway is the second event in the “Wear a Mask” campaign, an initiative spearheaded by local leaders to help slow the spread of COVID-19 in North Idaho.

Volunteers will be at Cherry Hill Park from 3-6 p.m. to pass out masks, which were purchased by the Coeur d’Alene Fire Department through the CARES Act. These masks do not deplete the supply of masks for first responder use.

“I’m proud of our firefighters and their efforts to protect our community,” Coeur d’Alene City Council member Amy Evans said. “I’m looking forward to volunteering alongside them on Thursday and handing out free masks.”

Volunteers distributed approximately 4,000 masks at the previous event last week. If demand remains high, additional mask distribution may be scheduled.
