Three dead in Sandpoint crash

Three people are dead after a crash near Sandpoint.

Stephen Estes, 32, of Sagle, was reportedly driving eastbound on State Highway 200 on Aug. 9 when he lost control of his vehicle, crossed into the westbound lane of travel and entered the Lower Pack River.

Lindsey Rose, 30, of Oldtown, Jeffrey Hooper, 41, of Sagle and two juveniles were passengers.

Idaho State Police responded to the crash at milepost 37.5, just east of Sandpoint, at 6:49 p.m.

Estes, Rose and Hooper died of their injuries at the scene.

Both juveniles were transported to Bonner General Hospital.

This is an ongoing investigation.
