‘Scarywood’ won’t happen

| August 5, 2020 3:31 PM

Silverwood Theme Park announced Wednesday it has canceled “Scarywood” slated for later this year due to the coronavirus.

“Due to the unique features of this event, we cannot operate Scarywood while maintaining the recommended guidelines by the CDC and our local health district,” states a post on its Facebook page.

Each Halloween season in years past Silverwood has become a home for ghouls, ghosts and monsters, who frightened thousands of visitors.

Silverwood said it plans to focus on daytime guests and will continue using enhanced health and safety procedures. Weather permitting, it plans to operate on weekends from Sept. 12 through Oct. 25.

“Our team at Scarywood is looking forward to returning to your nightmares in the future,” the post said.
