Ray Spaulding, 85

Raymond Leo Spaulding, age 85, of Hayden, died July 24, 2020, at the Schneidmiller Hospice House in Coeur d’Alene. He was born Nov. 11, 1934, in Blythedale, Mo., to Roy and Helen (Bowles) Spaulding.

After attending college in Montana, Ray became a drywall contractor for many years. He was a man of integrity with a strong work ethic. Ray married Miki Johnston on May 24, 1983, in Lewiston, Idaho, and they continued to make their home in Coeur d’Alene while opening up the Colonial Wedding House on Foster Avenue in 1986.

Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Miki, in 2000, and a son, Bailey Spaulding. He is survived by his companion of 14 years, Donna Long of Coeur d’Alene; a brother-in-law, Joseph Later of Boise; a niece, Jodi Anderson of Nampa, Idaho; and a nephew, Steven Later of Hermiston, Ore.

The graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2020, at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery in Coeur d’Alene, with Yates Funeral Home in care of the arrangements. You may visit Ray’s online memorial and sign his guest book at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
