DELAVAN: Let him lead county

| April 15, 2020 1:00 AM

Change can be good, especially in challenging times like these. Fortunately, there’s a candidate running who will make a change for the best with the District Two Commissioner seat.

Some of the current issues which should be important to all Kootenai County residents fit right into Greg Delavan’s background and expertise, whom I’ve known for more than 20 years.

Both a lifetime local resident and real estate professional, Greg understands the need to keep our property taxes from spiraling to a level which many can no longer afford their homes. I think he also realizes the desire of most residents to keep our piece of paradise from becoming just another over-developed, over-priced, urban-sprawled community.

Marina owner and president of the Coeur d’Alene Lakeshore Property Owners Association, Greg is passionate about protecting our beautiful waterways.

A private pilot and former director of the Coeur d’Alene Airport, Greg certainly understands the airport is both a financial and important transportation hub to the county, and that future development needs to proceed carefully while working with taxpayers, pilots and businesses.

A student of health care administration and financial administration, Greg has a handle on current issues like the Health Corridor project, and longtime issues like getting the best bang from our tax dollars.

A longtime friend of this retired law enforcement officer, I know Greg understands the need for a well-staffed and well-run Sheriff’s Department.

In my opinion, Greg Delavan’s political positions reflect what will best serve taxpayers, and I know he will listen to his constituents’ input and represent them well. Please consider Greg as your choice for Kootenai County Commissioner and vote in the May primary.
