No garage sales under stay-at-home order

| April 6, 2020 3:22 PM

As temperatures rise, Idaho residents may wonder if they can participate in their usual springtime activities while also complying with Gov. Brad Little’s statewide stay-at-home order.

The Kootenai County Office of Emergency Management pointed to garage sales as one example of an activity that is affected by the order. Because garage sales are not classified as essential businesses, residents should continue to follow the guidelines set forth by Gov. Little’s office.

Other outdoor activities such as walking, hiking, running and biking are still permitted, though residents must maintain a distance of six feet from other people.

Day trips near the home are permitted. However, if a trailhead is congested, residents are advised to find another trail or go during non-peak hours.

Residents should also check with the Idaho Department of Fish an Game’s seasons and rules before proceeding.
