TRASH: Come on, people

| April 4, 2020 1:00 AM

My husband and I have been walking the public path from Atlas, past the Kroc Center to the Riverstone area and beyond for more than eight years. We have always made it a point to pick up and dispose of garbage along the way.

These past two weeks my husband and I have become increasingly frustrated by the increase of items we are picking up that create a health risk. Thus, we are calling on all pet owners, cigarette smokers and gum chewers to ramp up their random acts of kindness by please properly disposing of pet feces, cigarette butts and chewed gum. Throwing it on the ground is disgusting and extremely irresponsible.

At a time where disease is at our forefront, we all need to do our part in being better stewards of taking care of our precious environment and this special place we call home, Idaho.

Simply put, STOP littering. The Earth is not your garbage can, your pet’s litter box, nor your personal ashtray!
