GRAMER: Column right on

| April 1, 2020 1:00 AM

Each day I read the Coeur d’Alene Press. I recognize it is a community newspaper which provides primarily information on our community. The letters to the editor from local people sometimes are uplifting and other times infuriating. The same can be said for My Turn articles and Guest Opinions. These are generally the opinion of local people, not professionals in the newspaper industry.

The guest opinion in the paper last Friday, by Rod Gramer, was one that deserved to be printed and should be read by everyone.

I do not know Mr. Gramer nor was I familiar with Gov. Phil Batt. Mr. Batt sounds like the type of governor we all could and should vote for today, but obviously he is not on any ballot.

Mr. Gramer demonstrates an understanding of the direction Idaho, our legislators and all of us need to travel. This is time we need to look in the direction and time of Gov. Batt. He did not need a pandemic for us all to want to help each other. It is who we should be and as the current pandemic shows, hopefully who we are.

This is truly an article which deserves to be in our newspaper. Thank you to the Coeur d’Alene Press.
