Full season
October is a time for nestling in a chair in your favorite chunky fall sweater and sipping on something steaming from a large mug. It’s for long walks, deep talks and planning for the upcoming holidays.
Although fall can very much look like a time when everything is dying, there is much more going on under the surface. Leaves are coming into their greatest strength, displaying other worldly colors that defy human limitations. The air is taking on a crispness that compliments the balmy late sun perfectly. The earth seeming to settle in for the inevitable approach of winter.
Each of us have memories from this wildly beautiful month; football games, leaf piles and last minute plans to chase the sun into the evening. It’s the perfect time of year to look back and forward all in one wonderful sigh of gratefulness and hope.
Just as nature is telling a story of what lies beneath what the eye is able to see, we too have an incredible opportunity to come into our own full season.
The shorter days afford us the room to rest and reflect, to re-gather and assess. It’s a divine space on our calendar to dream and imagine before the new year’s pressure of vision and goals
beckon us.
Nature has a way of reminding us about the rhythm of life. In the turning of the sun, the sprouting of the flowers, the budding of the trees and the transition of the leaves it calls us into our own personal experience.
This may be the appointed time for you to adjust your schedule, have that conversation, take that trip, make that decision, or go for that dream.
If you lift your face just so, the birds will invite you into their chatter of the day, the wind will envelop you in it’s brilliant autumn dance and you will begin to move to a cadence not your own. It could very well awaken something that has been sleeping inside of you and propel you into some of your most fulfilling days yet.
Blessings & love,
