Allen Richard Burg
Nov. 7, 1951 — Aug. 15, 2019
Allen was born in Minneapolis, Minn., to Edward Franklin Burg, Sr. and Anne Marie Burg. He passed away in Phoenix, Ariz. His grade school years were spent in Garden Grove, Calif. where he enjoyed Little League, Boy Scouts, Indian Guides, playing the trombone and signing solo. Later, he mastered the guitar and took a landscaping course in Simi, Calif., which led to him using his skills in a variety of projects there and in Arizona.
He was married to Rhea Johnson and had a daughter, Sandy. They were later divorced.
Allen loved cars, motorcycles and traveling in a motorhome. He traveled to many states in our wonderful country. He also enjoyed being a professional chef.
A severe accident and injury to his leg and knee curtailed those working years. He later had a stroke and macular degeneration, which left him blind.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward F. Burg, Sr.; his brothers, Edward F. Burg, Jr. and James Eugene Burg; his daughter, Sandra Lynn Register; both sets of grandparents; numerous aunts and uncles and cousins. He is survived by mother, Anne M. Burg; sisters, JoAnne M. Harner-Moore (Michael) and Janice L. Young (Robert) and son, Ivan Bridwell.
There are many people to mourn him and celebrate his life. Among them are his uncle, Frank Burg, Jr. (Marilyn) and aunt, Lois Burg and cousins in the Burg and Jean Families.
Allen was a devout Catholic, but had a beginning in many different churches. He played and sang in many churches in Calif., in Nashville and in Arizona. He was a special individual that lived life his own way and will be mourned by many family and friends.
