YAKIMA, Wash. — Sometimes, you just don’t play your best, but still find a way.

As Coeur d’Alene coach Shawn Amos described it, that was Friday’s matchup with the Eisenhower Cadets.

Colbey Nosworthy scored on touchdown passes of 53, 45 and 42 yards from Jack Prka as the Vikings outscored the Cadets 20-2 in the fourth quarter to notch a 42-21 win.

“Overall, we played very poorly, but came out with a win,” said Amos, whose team faces Highland next Friday at Holt Arena in Pocatello. “We need to do a lot better than that next week. Sometimes, winning ugly just happens. It’s nice to get the win, but we’ve got to be more dialed in next week because Highland is a different monster.”

Prka threw for 377 yards and four touchdowns, also connecting with Brennen Crawford on a 10-yard score in the first quarter. Nosworthy finished with 176 yards for Coeur d’Alene (3-1), and Devon Johnson had two interceptions.

Gino Pallotta capped the scoring with a 14-yard fumble return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter for Coeur d’Alene.
