Mr. Don Flemming is correct, it’s all about the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Read the preamble to the Bill of Rights. Most states were not going to sign until the Bill of Rights (the first 10 amendments) were added. The Second Amendment was to protect “the people” from an aggressive government. The flintlock rifle was the high tech weapon of that time as the AR-15 is now.

I do not nor do I care to own an AR-15 at this time, but, Mr. Jones of Boise, our rights do not end where your feelings begin. “Nothing more than feelings.”
