Michael Emory Reagan, 62
Michael Emory Reagan, age 62, lost his battle with cancer on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. Mike was born and raised in Coeur d’Alene, where he was a practicing attorney for more than 30 years.
Mike graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School in 1975. He then attended the University of Idaho, where he was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He graduated in 1983 with a degree in business. Mike went on to earn his law degree from Gonzaga University in 1986 and an LLM degree in taxation from the University of Florida, in 1987.
After completing his education, Mike returned to Coeur d’Alene to join his father, William A. Reagan, in the practice of law, primarily as a real estate attorney. Mike went on to form partnerships with a number of other attorneys in Coeur d’Alene before completing his career on his own. Mike was a member of the Idaho State Bar Association and was a long-time member of the Hayden Lake Country Club.
Mike was an outstanding athlete who knew no fear. He was an incredible skier, a gifted golfer, an avid scuba diver and he absolutely loved the adrenaline rush from skydiving. He was a bicyclist, a runner and loved backcountry camping with his brothers and sisters.
Mike’s happy place was out on his houseboat on Lake Coeur d’Alene. He loved hosting his family and friends and sharing his love of the lake.
He was a lover of animals and even adopted a family of ducks at the marina where he docked his boat. They would come to his call, where he always had food waiting for them.
Mike was a loving son, brother and uncle, and will be remembered for his keen intelligence, a huge heart, his big laugh and smile.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, William A. Reagan. He is survived by his mother, Jean Lucy and step-father, Howard Lucy of Coeur d’Alene; his seven siblings: Kathy (Russ) Larson, Mary (Kevin) Kerr, Bill (Danelle) Reagan, Amy Reagan and Pat Reagan, all of Coeur d’Alene, and Nancy Reagan (Jodi Foutch) and Polly (Joe) Stansell of Seattle; a step-brother, John Lucy of El Paso, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
