MEDFORD, Ore. — North Idaho College led by two goals after 76 minutes, but Rogue Community College scored twice in four minutes to tie the Cardinals 3-3 in nonconference play on Saturday.

NIC (1-1-2) led 2-0 at halftime on a pair of goals by Kelsey Wilkins, assisted by Tiana Cydell. Both goals came when Cydell, a Lake City High product, took the ball across midfield from her right back position and hit a diagonal ball behind the defense to Wilkins, who played the ball past the Rogue keeper.

“We played a very solid first half, and probably should have scored more goals than we did,” said NIC coach Dan Hogan, whose squad outshot the Ospreys 21-14 for the match.

Autumn Stewart beat a Rogue defender and drove a shot past the keeper for a 3-1 NIC lead late. But Rogue scored twice on long shots that dropped over the NIC keeper’s hands and into the goal.

NIC plays at Lane Community College in Eugene, Ore., today at noon. The Cardinals defeated Lane 4-0 two weeks ago in Tukwila, Wash.
