TAXES: It's only a break

It’s always nice to read good news. Like the news Post Falls will not collect the annual 3% property tax increase. “Whew,” the homeowner thinks, “I can use the break.” That’s just it, a break.

What the article fails to mention is sometime in the future, the city can collect the current 3% but also the past 3% it “banked.” If the council takes a separate vote to not collect the “foregone taxes” that’s when the property owner can truly breathe free.
