GUNS: Disagree with letter writer

Doug Weir says Jim Jones selectively ignores relevant facts. I disagree. The .223 round (AR-15) is just as deadly as the .30-06. The main thing is the AR can kill or wound more people faster than a .30-06 five-round deer rifle.

Here is a challenge. Have one person use a five-shot semi-automatic .30-06 rifle with six five-round magazines and the other person use an AR-15 with one 30-round magazine. Then see which can put the most rounds in as many targets in 30 seconds. Relevant facts.

The part about taking away deer rifles because the same caliber was used in wars many years ago is just more NRA [nonsense] and scare tactics.

Speaking of the NRA, I would rather donate my money to the Humane Society for animals’ food and shelter than pay the NRA dues to buy its CEO, Wayne LaPierre, a $6 million house and pay for expensive vacations for him and his wife.

Now the NRA is in financial trouble; maybe they should have kept some of the Russian money they funneled into Trump’s campaign. Brent Regan squawks about money from outside sources that influence elections but doesn’t say a word about the NRA using Russian money to get Trump elected. A typical Republican hypocrite who thinks facts are fake news.

P.S. Nuke hurricanes? Come on Pence, time for the 25th Amendment before this moron destroys the world.
