TRUCKS: Canines aren't cargo

This letter is for the person whose classified ad looking for their missing dog ran in the paper recently. I am truly sorry you lost your dog, but to be honest I am a lot sorrier for the dog than I am for you. If you cared so much for your dog, why was she riding in the back of your truck?
So many terrible things can and do happen to dogs in the back of a truck. I was behind a truck on Northwest Boulevard a few years ago with two beautiful Dobermans in the back. One dog flew out and got hit by a car in the other lane. A dog tied up in the back could be hung in an accident.
Please don’t let your dogs ride in the back of your truck! You wouldn’t put your kids back there.
