SPIRIT LAKE — Jeremy McLemore ran for 117 yards and two touchdowns to power the Timberlake Tigers past the Kellogg Wildcats 48-6 in the Intermountain League finale for both state playoff bound schools at Van Tuinstra Memorial Field on Friday.

MULLAN — A slow start and a rough third quarter prevented visiting Lakeside from winning — and from clinching a 1A Division II playoff berth.
Tiger senior Ian Farris ran for 138 yards and three touchdowns on 12 carries as Mullan-St. Regis (6-2 overall, 3-1 North Star) avenged an earlier league loss to the Knights.
“We got out to a slow start. Mullan went up 18-0 ... and it seemed like we were a step behind the whole night,” Lakeside coach Chris Dohrman said. “We had a couple interceptions in the third quarter and they ran one back for a score. Defensively, we couldn’t stop their big plays.”
Vincent Howard ran for 81 yards and punched in a couple two-point conversions for the Knights (5-1, 2-1) while quarterback Tucker Sanchez threw two TD passes and ran for a score. Jayson Hall had an 87-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
The loss means Lakeside must win its makeup game on Wednesday at Clark Fork to tie Mullan-St. Regis for the conference title and the league’s lone playoff berth.
If the Knights beat the Wampus Cats, Lakeside and Mullan-St. Regis would meet in a Kansas tiebreaker on Monday, Nov. 4, at Kootenai High School in Harrison Flats, Dohrman said. The winner of that tiebreaker would advance to the first round of the state playoffs on Friday, Nov. 8.
