BERNSTEIN: Three reasons for support

This letter is in response to Ralph Bartholdt’s article in the Press on Oct. 17.

I would like to start by saying I am NOT a transplant to North Idaho. Nor do I know Jillian. There are several reasons why I voted (absentee) for Jillian Rae Lee Barker Bernstein, however I am only going to give you three reasons.

First, she is not a politician. Second, Hayden council is comprised of nonpartisan individuals who are true Statesmen/women and not politicians. If you don’t know the difference, please look it up in your dictionary. This group would be wonderful mentors for Jillian and she would learn from the best. We need younger people to learn from this council on how to put the city and its constituents first instead of being sheep for a certain party.

Third, as a business owner, Jillian knows firsthand the struggles and rewards of being a business owner. Yes she filed for bankruptcy, but in my opinion this helps her relate to the everyday struggles some people have to make it day to day.

Mr. Bartholdt, I don’t know if you are in the back pocket of her opponent, but if this is the worst you can come up with, then I am even more confident in my vote.

I am signing this letter using my maiden name instead of my married name because who cares?
