Deborah Lyne Berzins, 61

April 25, 1958 – Sept. 28, 2019

Deborah passed from this life to the arms of her savior, Jesus Christ, on the evening of Sept. 28, 2019, with her family close by her side. She is survived by her loving husband, Victor Berzins of Coeur d’Alene; her daughters Breanna (Robby) Glass of Riverside, Calif. and Cherilyne (Brian) Needham of Rathdrum, Idaho. Also surviving her are Victor’s children, who became her own upon their marriage in July of 1996, Brian (Kristin) Berzins and Kristin (John) Milner, both of California.

From 1988 to 1993, Deborah served as director of Los Angeles Project With Industry, where she worked tirelessly to place disabled people in productive jobs that benefited them and the industries in which they were placed. She then took a position at Riverside Residential School for the Deaf as a teacher, where she had the joy of teaching art to deaf children, and then as an administrative assistant. She retired in 2009 when she moved to Hayden, Idaho.

It was Deb’s greatest joy to spend time with her grandchildren, and she counted herself blessed to have been such a big part of her granddaughter Kaylie Needham’s life for the past 10 years. Grandchildren also loved and cherished by Deb are Travis, Logan, and Carly Berzins and Amanda and Clara Milner, all residing in California. Deb loved her shiloh shepherds and the beauty of North Idaho. She loved serving the Lord in the ministry to women at the church she and Vic attended, Foundation Bible Church, and also in her service to the deaf population as an interpreter. She had planned to become a Biblical counselor in order to better serve the deaf population, when the Lord called her home. Her work here was finished!

Deb also leaves behind her sister, Chelly Coon of Hayden; her husband, Marty; daughter, Bonnie Fairfield and son, Jarod Coon, all of Idaho; Bill Cook, his wife, Shelly and daughters, Courtney, Jenna and Katie Cook, all of Upland, Calif.

Per her wishes, there will be no services held.
