SHRINERS: Another success story

| October 6, 2019 1:00 AM

What a joy to see another Shriners Hospitals for Children success story in Friday’s paper.

Thirty-one years ago, my granddaughter was in an auto accident that paralyzed her from the armpits down. Shriners in San Francisco, with a goal to make her independent, took her on as a patient. They succeeded!

She was a poster child for Shriners, and after aging out at 21 had a license for day care in her home for six years. Now, she is a foster parent with a 7-month-old girl and 3 1/2-year-old twins. She owns her own home and is able to hook up her 23-foot trailer to her pickup by herself.

Congratulations, Isabelle, I know that you have worked hard and will do well in what you do.
