Cd'A boys soccer shuts out Moscow

MOSCOW — Two goals from Cameron Dance and a goal and two assists from Drake Prohaska led the Coeur d’Alene boys soccer team to a 4-0 win at Moscow on Monday afternoon.

Vikings coach Braden Ridgewell was pleased with his team’s fourth straight shutout — especially with four CHS players injured.

“This was a big game as Moscow beat us last time we played them and they are very good at what they do,” Ridgewell said. “This Moscow team is the best team we have played this year. They know what they do well, and they are well coached in it. We wish Moscow the best in their 4A games as we anticipate them going far. Possibly even a 4A state winning team.”

The Vikings (6-2 overall, 3-1 5A IEL) face a key Inland Empire League match on Wednesday at Lake City, which is 2-2 in league play.

“Seeing how the 5A standings have been shifting, it is up for grabs as to who the top 2 teams will be,” Ridgewell said. “We’re doing everything we can to try and keep this No. 1 spot. The boys have been playing really well together and we only see ourselves getting better and better as the season goes on.”
