MOMS: Follow the money

This is in response to Karen Charbonneau’s “My Turn” column in the Nov. 9 Coeur d’Alene Press promoting the group “Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense In America” (MOMS).

This is yet another example of a fringe group proclaiming that gun safety is their main priority. She states that they support several causes including the Second Amendment, rights of citizens to own guns, and several others. What debunks her so-called support for the Second Amendment is her support for red flag laws.

Red flag laws disarm citizens without due process. The state of California (which leads the nation in their pursuit of insanity) has just expanded its current red flag law so that employers, coworkers and teachers can now request that “questionable” citizens be disarmed. All that’s needed is an activist judge who carries a disdain for our Second Amendment, a statement by the “questionable” citizen that’s deemed offensive and bye-bye to that citizen’s God-given rights. This is a Stalinist tactic similar to the ones employed by the Communists during the Russian Revolution. It also places law enforcement at increased risk by creating a situation of potentially deadly force when they attempt to confiscate a law-abiding citizen’s firearms.

The group MOMS is funded by billionaire Michael Bloomberg, a known anti-gun politician.

Idaho Constitutional Provision Article 1 Section 11 states “nor shall any law permit the confiscation of firearms except those actually used in the commission of a felony.”

I would suggest that “MOMS” take their Bloomberg propaganda elsewhere.
