COMMUNISM: A local alert

| November 17, 2019 12:00 AM

On Nov. 9, a Facebook post revealed a picture of a local business with a Communist symbol at Riverstone. As a lifetime local resident, I am disgusted and appalled that they were allowed to put it up.

I visited Communist countries in 1970, and I can tell you they were and are still horrifying. No freedom of any kind. The people were constantly in fear of the state. Borders guarded by barbed wire, land mines and machine guns. No freedom of religion or speech. Even thoughts were rigidly controlled by the rulers and their minions.

As a columnist, I have written about thousands of situations where control over the populace has infiltrated local governments and states. Freedoms are quickly lost. Ordinary people are suddenly the enemy. And with the educational system in America now, they don’t even understand what they’ve lost.

North Idaho has been a refuge from the idiocy that is pervasive in the rest of the country. At the risk of sounding mean, I don’t give a d*** about the “diversity agenda” or “green agenda” of the United Nations. Those things are designed to CONTROL the populace, not give them opportunities or bring prosperity to the individual or the people as a whole. None of it is “for our own good” it’s the opposite — it’s only for the good of the elites in charge. I care about the people in North Idaho and the freedoms we have always enjoyed.

North Idaho is one of the most beautiful places on Earth, but it will not stay that way with fools in charge. Unless the people stand up and stop the agendas of foreign entities, North Idaho will become a cesspool of problems. And a Communist hammer and sickle is just the beginning. People become desensitized to the lies and trickery of Socialism/Communism.

Don’t allow it — and don’t listen to the simpering lies of those who want it.
