Carolyn Joyce Burns (Swars), 77

Carolyn Joyce Burns (Swars), age 77, of Hayden, Idaho, died Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2019. She was born Jan. 26, 1942, in Sacramento, Calif., to George and Harriett Swars.

Carolyn moved to Dalton Gardens, in 1978, and then to Rathdrum, where she was a hairdresser for 47 years.

Carolyn loved gardening, baking, crocheting, knitting and sewing.

She is survived by her son, Larry Vanderlinden Jr.; daughter, Lorrie (Rick) Ladner; stepdaughters Lisa (Mark) Lawrence and Amie (Eric) Palmer; brothers Don and Bill Swars; grandchildren Lindsey (Adam) Cuthbertson, Lacie (Vic) Clementi, Dr. Kaley Ladner, Brianne Vanderlinden, Jack Vanderlinden, Jeffrey (Mikaela) Lawrence, Joey Lawrence, Rebecca (Chris) Harris, Jarred (Brandi) Lawrence, Jeremy Lawrence, Justin Lawrence and Michael Palmer; and great-grandchildren Avanell, Avery, Ashton, Alijah, Dominc, Sophia, Lila, Liam, Sumer Ann, Jayden and Jaxson.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, William Burns Jr.; her parents, George and Harriett Swars; and her brother, Dick Swars.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Yates Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of final arrangements.
