DREXTERS: A brainless bane

| May 29, 2019 1:00 AM

OK folks, enough is enough. Make a real effort to stop “drexting.” If this was a movie it would be called “Invasion of the Brain Snatchers” or something.

I see people on their phones all the time! Granted, I am a freak. I hate my stupid phone. I go days without touching it. It hates me too. I’m not sure how or why everyone half my age can’t seem to live without these bloody things. So I’m “out of touch.” What could possibly be more important than safe driving? What message on Earth is that much of an emergency? What self-indulgence!

I know many of you have not been touched by the tragedy yet. Hey, I get it. I assumed bad stuff only happened to other people until I was 11. My brother nearly died on my watch. Take it from me, folks — bad stuff happens to everyone. It’s only a matter of time. You will have a trauma, sooner or later. Now, do you want to be the dead victim or the sucker who killed a kid while texting, “Nothin’ What are you doin’?”

Grow up. Nobody cares about your digital life. Drive defensively and stay the heck out of the bike lane too. I swear, some of you would drive on the sidewalk if the curb had a slope.
