ABORTION: The rape equation

| May 29, 2019 1:00 AM

Many oppose abortion, except in cases of rape. But the position is untenable. Logically, if abortion is “wrong,” it is wrong because it involves killing humans. If not human (science tells us it’s no kangaroo), then abortion is nothing more than liposuction and certainly not immoral. If separate DNA, beating heart, fingers/toes, sucking thumb and experiencing pain indicate the presence of a human — then killing her is wrong. We would not place greater value on a 7-month developed baby than a 2-year-old anymore than we would place greater value on a 25-year-old than we would a 2-year old. All have equal value. It makes no sense to say you are partly human. Either you are or you’re not.

Could a mother kill a 2-year-old because she discovered the father of the child was not her boyfriend, but rather, a rapist? What if the child caused the mother mental anguish? Using logical deduction, (a science lost on millennials caught up in “choice” clichés), if unborn babies have value, (human), then killing a child born of rape is murder whether the child is 2 or unborn. If morally wrong to kill unborn humans, it is no less wrong to kill for emotionally traumatic reasons.

According to the pro-abortion Guttmacher Institute, only 1 percent of abortions involve rape. Rape exceptions undermine the humanity of the unborn, justifying 1.3 million abortions annually. Meanwhile, discussion of 16,000 late-term abortions is avoided because it exposes the fallacy of choice — the baby didn’t agree to die.
